Got a passion for horses and sport? Bring the best of both worlds together in a polo lesson for beginners.
Oaklands Country Manor has three packages to get you saddled up and galloping toward a new, thrilling hobby… Perhaps even career.
Polo Lessons for Beginners
They say good things come in threes. With our world-class facilities, well-trained horses, and experienced coaches, Oaklands definitely fits the leading polo-club bill. In fact, we go beyond the rule, offering polo lessons, as well!
Our polo lessons have been structured to suit your budget and level of experience…
For Beginners Only
You don’t need to know how to ride a horse of the bat to book a polo lesson at Oaklands. We make it so that those who have never been on a horse can build their confidence on a wooden one instead. During a 30-minute session, beginners will learn the correct riding and stick-wielding techniques.
For the Practiced Riders
Oaklands Country Manor offers lessons for the more daring student. This puts the rider on horseback, skipping the mock session. It offers a bit more of challenge in that one is trained to ride the horse, while using the stick to guide the ball and lasts for one hour.
For those Eager to Saddle Up
Or giddy on up in one full sweep in our combined polo lesson. This brings together the newbie and practiced-rider lessons, allowing the novice student to learn the ins and outs of saddling up and playing on a stationary and moving horse.
What to Wear to a Polo Lesson
You can go the extra mile and invest in a pair of jodhpurs if you plan on pursuing polo on a regular basis. Of course, if you’re just testing the waters, a simple pair of confortable jeans will suit just fine. A breathable shirt is also ideal – horse riders do occasionally break a sweat trying to stay perched on their steed. One area we’re not slack on is riding boots and a helmet – the latter is readily available at Oaklands.
