Executive chef Kathy Romer-Lee does away with her daily chalkboard menu to bring you a mouth-watering, three-course feast specially created for the festive holiday. Together with head chef Johnson Ndlovu and her dedicated team, Kathy’s Kitchen will bring the best of the Drakensberg countryside to your plate. Featuring the freshest produce sourced from the Oaklands garden, as well as locally and responsibly sourced ingredients from nearby farms, here’s what visitors can look forward to…
On Our Christmas Menu
The turkey isn’t the only thing that will be stuffed at Oaklands’ annual Christmas lunch. With festive gazpacho and soufflé starting off the gastronomic ensemble, you’re going to have a tough time of it leaving room for mains and dessert! Dig into merrily tinged honey-roasted turkey, seared duck breasts with black cherry sauce, or a halloumi tarte tatin to name a few. And round it all off with flourless chocolate torte (for a guilt-free spoil), berry sorbet or candied fruit with baked brie (yum!)
Spend the Day at Oaklands
After indulging, there’s no need to rush. Work lunch off with a stroll through the manor grounds. Or, kick back by the pool, while the children play on the jungle gym. or float into a nap on the lake.
